Meet the Kinnear family
When Fred George Kinnear first visited the farm Luncarty on the outskirts of the little town of Ohrigstad, midway between Lydenburg and Hoedspruit, little did he know what God had intended for him, and the ground he stepped on. On a subsequent visit to view the property, he was greeted by a Black Eagle, and saw this as a sign that his destiny would forever be linked to this property.
On 28 February 1992, the Kinnear family from Nelspruit in Mpumulanga, comprising of Fred, his wife Hannetjie and daughter Selize, purchased the Farm Luncarty, the families vision was to develop a reserve in the heart of the African bushveld with conservation as their main inspiration, where both humans and animals could co-habit. The land was called “Hannah”, which means “A Gift from God”.
The once modest homestead was opened to visitors, and as the reserve grew in popularity, as a destination of choice, the need arose for the development of additional accommodation. The Lodge was officially established in 1996, and has over the years developed into Hannah Game Lodge as we know it today.
The reserve has since 1996, with careful attention to detail, and with particular consideration to the requirements of our guests in mind, developed into a 4 star luxury game lodge with 56 standard en suite chalets as well as 4 standard suites and 4 luxury suites.
Other facilities that were developed over the years were conference facilities, open air boma’s, a swimming pool, restaurant and various other entertainment and wedding venues where we can now offer so much more to our guests.
The most recent addition to Hannah Game Lodge is the newly developed high rope / low rope team development and adventure facility, which is rated by some of the countries top team development facilitators as the most comprehensive and versatile team development facility in the country.
Hannah Game Lodge is a privately owned 4 star luxury game lodge and is managed by a Board Of Trustees with a Managing Trustee on the reserve who has a very competent team of staff working with her in running Hannah Game Lodge as the sought after property it has become.
